Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 30, 2026
Krohn ("Krohn", "we", "us") is a professional networking app that helps people
build and share their network of contacts. This Privacy Policy explains what we
collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Krohn you agree to
this policy.
Information you provide
- Account & sign-in: your name, email address and/or phone number, and (if you use them) Google Sign-In or email/SMS verification codes. We store a hashed password only if you set one.
- Profile: profile photo, LinkedIn URL, current employer, and an optional note you add to your card.
- Professional details: the industries you choose (and the points you allocate to them) and the ways you say you can help others.
- Connections & notes: the people you connect with, contacts shared with you, and any private notes you write about a contact.
How we use your information
- To create your account, sign you in, and keep you signed in.
- To show your card to people you connect with and to power discovery by industry.
- To let you connect via QR code and to share or invite contacts by SMS or email at your request.
- To operate, maintain, and improve the app.
Sharing of information
- With people you connect with: your card (name, photo, employer, LinkedIn, industries, "can help with", and — if you choose to show it — your phone) is visible to your connections.
- When you share or invite: if you share a contact or invite someone by SMS or email, we send that message to the recipient you specify. The person who invites someone is added as a contact when the invitee joins.
- Private notes you write about a contact are visible only to you.
Card-sharing activity logs
To keep Krohn safe and to prevent abuse and fraud, we keep a log of
card-sharing activity. When a card is shared, we record:
- Who shared the card and with whom it was shared.
- When the share happened.
- The custom message you include with the share, if any.
These logs are used only for security, abuse prevention, and fraud
prevention. They are accessible only to authorized administrators, are not used
for advertising or any other purpose, and are retained only as long as needed
for abuse prevention and account safety.
Service providers
We use trusted third parties to run Krohn, including:
- Twilio — sending SMS verification codes and invites.
- Postmark — sending email.
- Google — Sign in with Google.
- OpenRouter / Anthropic — AI features that suggest industry categories and refine your "can help with" descriptions. Only the text needed for the suggestion is sent.
- Microsoft Azure — hosting and database.
These providers process data on our behalf to deliver the service.
